Meet the Doctors at Robious Crossing Pediatric Dentistry

Pediatric Dentists in Midlothian, VA

Brian A Schmitz, D.M.D.

Board Certified, Diplomate of The American Board of Pediatric Dentistry

Dr. Brian Schmitz received his Undergraduate degree in Public Health Science at the University of California, Irvine. He then worked for St. Jude Medical as a project manager in research and development to help develop the next generation of medical devices in cardiac ablation and spinal cord stimulation. Although he was grateful for the work he was able to do at St. Jude, he knew he wanted to be treating his patients face to face. Dr. Brian decided to pursue dentistry and was able to graduate Cum Laude from the University of Pennsylvania, School of Dental Medicine. While attending Penn, Dr. Brian received honors in community service for his work in the neighboring pediatric dental community centers. Dr. Brian completed his residency in pediatric dentistry at Bon Secours, St. Mary’s Hospital.

Dr. Brian is very happy to return to Richmond and excited to help his patients achieve a cavity-free lifestyle and develop a positive association with dentistry. Having experience in mentorship programs and coaching children’s baseball, he feels fortunate to be able to care for pediatric patients and start them on a successful track to maintain oral health. “I enjoy educating my patients on why we need to take care of our teeth, especially baby teeth, and creating an environment children look forward to going to.” Dr. Brian is a member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, American Dental Association, and has had his research on Oral Crohn’s Disease published in the Journal of Dentistry for Children.

In his free time, Dr. Brian enjoys attending flying squirrels games, playing Frisbee golf, and hiking with his Fiancé Caroline and their dogs Cali and Finnegan.

Luke B. Robert, D.M.D.

Board Certified, Diplomate of The American Board of Pediatric Dentistry

Dr. Luke Robert is a Georgia native and recent transplant to the great state of Virginia. He attended the University of Georgia in Athens, GA (Go Dawgs!) where he graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor’s in Biological Sciences. He then completed his dental education in Augusta, GA at The Dental College of Georgia. It was in dental school that he met his lovely wife, Dr. Cameron Robert, a general dentist also practicing in Richmond. Throughout dental school, Dr. Robert volunteered with the Special Olympics: Special Smiles and YMCA Miracle League Baseball. This fostered a passion for working with those with special needs, in addition to his pre-existing love for working with children. This passion led to Dr. Robert spending 2 more years in Augusta, completing his residency in pediatric dentistry.

The Drs. Robert are eager to establish themselves as members of the Richmond community. “My wife and I are so excited to start our professional lives together in such a vibrant city. We can’t wait to be involved in the community and provide the best care possible to our patients.” Dr. Robert is an involved member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry and American Dental Association, doing his best to attend annual conferences and educational seminars whenever possible, to ensure the most up to date standard of care.

In his free time, Dr. Robert can be found performing at local open mic nights or riding his bike around town. He and his wife also love to explore the local food scene and can’t wait to visit Richmond’s best eateries.
