Roger E. Wood, D.D.S.

BOARD CERTIFIED, DIPLOMATE OF THE AMERICAN BOARD OF PEDIATRIC DENTISTRY

Dr. Roger Wood graduated from the Medical College of Virginia School of Dentistry and then completed his residency in Pediatric Dentistry at Indiana University Medical Center Children’s Hospital. He has taught Pediatric Dentistry at the Medical College of Virginia Dental School for over six years. Dr. Wood is both Board-Certified by the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry and a fellow of the American College of Dentists. Since entering the field, Dr. Wood has remained an active member of numerous professional organizations, including the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, American Dental Association, Virginia Dental Association, Richmond Dental Society, Richmond American Society of Dentistry for Children, and the Academy of Dentistry for the Handicapped. In 2011, Dr. Wood was appointed by the Governor to the Virginia State Board of Dentistry, where he served as President.

In addition to his work with pediatric patients in the Midlothian area, Dr. Wood is currently on Staff with CJW Hospital, Johnston Willis campus, where he serves as Chief of Dentistry. Dr. Wood strives to stay active in his community by traveling to under-served parts of Virginia to donate his time and skills for children in need of dental care through projects like “Give Kids a Smile.”

Nicholas C. Lombardozzi, D.D.S.

BOARD CERTIFIED, DIPLOMATE OF THE AMERICAN BOARD OF PEDIATRIC DENTISTRY

Dr. Lombardozzi is an experienced Pediatric Dentist who has been practicing in the Richmond/Midlothian area since 1992. He is a graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University School of Dentistry/Medical College of Virginia, where he presently serves as an adjunct associate professor in the Department of Pediatric Dentistry. He received his Certificate in Pediatric Dentistry at the University of Kentucky.

Dr. Lombardozzi has earned many awards and honors during his professional career including being awarded a fellowship in the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, twice recognized in Richmond Magazine as one of the top areas Pediatric Dentists, and most importantly honored as a diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. Dr. Lombardozzi has received advanced training with the American Heart Association/American Academy of Pediatrics and is a Pediatric Advanced Life Support Provider. He is a member of the American Academy and Board of Pediatric Dentistry, American Dental Association, Virginia Dental Association, and the Richmond Dental Society.

In addition to his work with pediatric patients, Dr. Lombardozzi is currently on staff with St. Mary’s Hospital and CJW Hospital, Johnston Willis Campus. In his spare time, Dr. Lombardozzi enjoys reading, sports, fishing, running, cooking and especially spending time with his family including his wife, Lisa, and his three sons, Ryan, Alec, and Tony.

Jack Dunlevy, D.M.D.

Dr. Jack Dunlevy attended Brown University on an academic/athletic scholarship and graduated with honors in 1980. He holds a Doctorate of Dental Medicine from the Harvard School of Dental Medicine, a Master’s degree in Public Policy and Government from Harvard, and a Master’s degree in Orthodontics from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He has been practicing orthodontics in Midlothian since 1987. In addition to his ABO certification, Dr. Dunlevy is a member of the American Association of Orthodontists, Virginia Dental Association, Southern Society of Orthodontists, American Dental Association, Virginia Association of Orthodontists, UNC Orthodontic Alumni Association, and the Richmond Dental Society. He has held leadership positions in many of these organizations. Additionally, Dr. Dunlevy has served as a board member of the Dental Foundation of North Carolina since 2011.

Dr. Dunlevy has published research papers, nationally and internationally, and lectured at scientific conferences. He is particularly interested in jaw growth in children with severe orthodontic problems, the surgical correction of facial deformities, and health policy. Community participation has always been important to our practice. From the Special Olympics to science fairs, Dr. Dunlevy enjoys supporting our patients in their extracurricular endeavors. Jack and his wife, Renee live in Midlothian with their three sons. He enjoys jogging and watching athletic events with his family and friends.

Brian A Schmitz, D.M.D.

Board Certified, Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry

Dr. Brian Schmitz received his Undergraduate degree in Public Health Science at the University of California, Irvine. He then worked for St. Jude Medical as a project manager in research and development to help develop the next generation of medical devices in cardiac ablation and spinal cord stimulation. Although he was grateful for the work he was able to do at St. Jude, he knew he wanted to be treating his patients face to face. Dr. Brian decided to pursue dentistry and was able to graduate Cum Laude from the University of Pennsylvania, School of Dental Medicine. While attending Penn, Dr. Brian received honors in community service for his work in the neighboring pediatric dental community centers. Dr. Brian completed his residency in pediatric dentistry at Bon Secours, St. Mary’s Hospital.

Dr. Brian is very happy to return to Richmond and excited to help his patients achieve a cavity-free lifestyle and develop a positive association with dentistry. Having experience in mentorship programs and coaching children’s baseball, he feels fortunate to be able to care for pediatric patients and start them on a successful track to maintain oral health. “I enjoy educating my patients on why we need to take care of our teeth, especially baby teeth, and creating an environment children look forward to going to.” Dr. Brian is a member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, American Dental Association and has had his research on Oral Crohn’s Disease published in the Journal of Dentistry for Children.

In his free time, Dr. Brian enjoys attending flying squirrels games, playing Frisbee golf and hiking with his Fiancé Caroline and their dogs Cali and Finnegan.
